It’s been an epic year for Armadillo. Following a management buy-out and after 25 years in Bath, last May the team moved to Bristol. The move offered huge potential for the company’s growth plans and was the start of exciting change.
Growing team
Now a team of 34, recruitment has been pivotal. Since June 2018 we’ve welcomed 13 new Armadillians. These roles have bolstered teams to enable more work to be produced, but also added brand new roles: a Planning and Strategy Director; Digital Design Director; and Conceptual Copywriter, enabling us to increase our capabilities and re-shape how we work together. The introduction of HR and Marketing has added essential support and the appointment of Ann Hiatt, ex -google and Amazon advisor, as Non-Executive Director has provided a Silicon Valley voice to expand our thinking.
Award win
2019 started with serious celebration when we won a DMA! It was a memorable night as we took the top spot for our McDonald’s ‘Monopoly Wiiiin!’ campaign in the ‘Best Use of Email’ category, beating off four other entrants. The campaign saw unprecedented results for the brand, encouraging an incremental 400,000 players to the online game; a 10% conversion rate which equated to 13% of the entire promotion traffic across all channels.
Welcoming P&O Cruises and Cunard
The year kept getting better when in February we won an exciting new client. Following a five-way pitch, we’ve partnered with Carnival UK to deliver CRM and data strategy for the leading cruise line brands P&O Cruises and Cunard. We’ve been digging deep to ensure we understand their customers – even joining a cruise!
Armadillo events
Last week saw our last supper in our summer series of events. We’ve been thrilled to be joined by a range of Industry experts, entrepreneurs, startups, editors and authors to discuss technology in our society. Thanks to David Rowan, Stefan Stern, Timandra Harkness and Jamie Bartlett for sparking discussions from Ideas born out of their books. Our final breakfast is on September 12th and we’re currently planning our next series of events so if you’d like to join us, please get in touch.
If the last 12 months are anything to go by, the next 12 should be a brilliant adventure! If you’re interested to find out more about working with us, we’d love to hear from you.
