Job Type

£18,000 - £22,000

At Armadillo, we work with some of the world’s biggest brands, including Disney, McDonald’s, P&O Cruises and Cunard Cruises, to produce beautifully creative, and effective, CRM campaigns.

We believe in the long-term success that comes from always putting the best interests of our clients and the well-being and progression of our staff at the heart of everything we do. We are ambitious and free-thinking, yet at the same time pragmatic and straightforward.

So you want to write? We’re looking for a Junior Copywriter with a willingness to learn, an impressive turn of phrase, and a keenness to kick-start their copywriting career. Working with our Conceptual Copywriter you will support the whole business with excellent copy across multiple brands and mediums, with a particular focus on email and DM.

Perhaps you’re a recent Marketing or Advertising graduate with a book full of ideas. Maybe you’re already in the biz and you’re looking for an opportunity to slide sideways into a creative role. Or maybe you’re doing something completely different, but the chance to earn your keep by writing in a fast-paced, challenging and creative environment sounds like your kind of jam. If you can write with flair, solve problems and persevere (oh, and not take criticism too personally) the role could be for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Writing for multiple channels and brands with an understanding of the unique tone and proposition of our clients.
  • Proof-reading, aided by your meticulous attention to detail and solid grasp of grammar.
  • Providing copy resource for internal projects that support our marketing goals; for example, writing blog posts, case studies, presentation materials, etc.

Conceptual Thought

  • You will be able to understand a brief and support the Conceptual Copywriter and Digital Experience Director by contributing ideas that captivate the target audience.
  • You should have the confidence to talk through your ideas and explain your thought process. Being an effective, confident communicator is key.

Industry knowledge

  • You’ll stay abreast of the latest media and technology developments, thinking about how they could be applied in the creative communications industry.
  • You’ll have your eye on industry trends and technologies and be ready to spot opportunities to adopt them. We want someone who is proactive rather than reactive.

Specific skills and experience

A graduate in a relevant subject is ideal but experience, passion and ability is more important. Here are some of the boxes applicants should be able to tick:

  • Experience of creative thinking and idea generation.
  • A desire to create high quality work, with attention to detail.
  • A self-starter, you are solution-oriented and know how to ‘make things happen’.
  • The ability to think on your feet.
  • A team player.
  • An effective, confident communicator.
  • Takes action and makes decisions with the interests of both clients and the agency in mind.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Has a challenging and enquiring mind, with an ability to take a fresh perspective, keeping up to date with latest thinking.
  • Possessing a positive attitude.
