We are looking for an experienced self-starter to manage all of our marketing activities while our Marketing Manager is on maternity leave. 

Whilst the marketing strategy has been defined, and our key requirement is someone to continue the delivery of this, there will be the opportunity to propose enhancements or activities that help drive the business forward. There are also some really interesting projects to get your teeth into, including the launch of our new proposition and positioning.

You’ll be a team of one, so we’re looking for someone who is a hands-on ‘doer’, but you will have the support of the Board and senior members of the agency and the work lends itself to being in communication with people daily. You’ll also lead our PR strategy, in partnership with our PR agency.

We would consider applications from people looking for a minimum of three days per week, but working hours and days can be completely flexible, to suit your needs. At present, all employees are remote, but we use Google Chat and Meet to keep in regular contact.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement the marketing strategy, monitoring KPIs and making adjustments where needed
  • Oversee the agency’s marketing budget
  • Lead the roll out of the agency proposition and positioning across all channels
  • Manage the development of promotional materials, case studies, website content, emails, advertisements, and other marketing-related projects, including writing briefs and critiquing creative
  • Manage the agency’s social media channels
  • Manage and coordinate PR activities in collaboration with the agency’s PR consultancy
  • Explore and progress different content types, potentially including videos, podcasts and events
  • Ensure that the agency’s profiles on third party websites are up to date
  • Support and coordinate the response to any new business enquiries and opportunities
  • Approve and oversee award entries
  • Track relevant marketing data and produce a monthly progress report to the Board

This job description reflects the core activities of the role although there will be changes in the emphasis of duties as required from time to time. There is a requirement for the post holder to recognise this and adopt a flexible approach to work.


Specific skills and experience


  • Experience in the marketing of B2B services
  • Updating websites (adding text, images, video) using a content management system (ideally WordPress)
  • Use of social media, including creating content and community management: Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram
  • Budgeting
  • Writing briefs
  • Copywriting for both long and short form copy
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-starter and problem solver
  • Good people and communication skills
  • Solid organisational abilities


  • Previous experience of working for a marketing agency
  • Marketing or business qualification
  • Experience of using a CRM system (ideally Pipedrive)
  • Experience of using a digital marketing platform (ideally Campaign Monitor)
  • Web stats reporting and insight (ideally using Google Analytics and Hootsuite)
  • Running PR campaigns
