We’re Armadillo, a CRM agency based in the heart of Bristol. We work with some of the world’s biggest brands, including McDonald’s, Disney, P&O Cruises, Hotels.com, and Cunard Cruises, to produce beautifully creative, and effective, CRM campaigns.

You are a middleweight creative designer. Someone who wants to make things beautiful but also wants to change people’s behaviour through understanding their needs and the needs of our clients.

You have experience of working toward specific strategic goals, both long and short term. You are also be excited to use data to create re-active and personal communications in all channels.

Key Responsibilities

Conceptual Creativity

  • As part of the Digital Experience Team, you are responsible for challenging briefs and for creating concepts that drive the CRM objectives and will captivate the target audience.

Creative Design

  • You are a confident and passionate designer, equally happy working with provided assets or creating your own to deliver against the brand’s tone and campaign objectives.
  • You have experience in all CRM channels, from email to print, and understand the opportunities and challenges that each channel provides.
  • You regularly demonstrate a ‘people first’ approach to design and are able to explain how you have considered the intended audience ahead of
  • You are an accomplished user of technology to realise your creativity; from pen and paper to tools such as Sketch and the Adobe Suite (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and InDesign).
  • You have an incredible eye for detail and are happy reviewing your colleague’s work to ensure everything we produce is the highest possible quality.
  • You are able to take inspiration from a broad range of sources, and have experience working with more technical roles to bring your idea’s to life.
  • You are confident in presenting work, both internally and to clients, and supporting your ideas with a clear rationale.
  • Enjoy working as part of a creative team, able to understand your own strengths and those of your colleagues to ensure the best possible result.

 

Best Practice & Efficiency

  • To apply industry best practice against all projects.
  • Work with the wider team to ensure you are regularly sharing ideas for improving our process and that new best practices are put into effect.
  • To liaise directly with clients and 3rd parties to advise best practice solutions when required.
  • To provide insight and analytical thinking and where necessary supply concise yet comprehensive guides or documentation.

 

Industry knowledge

  • Keeping abreast of latest media and technology developments and their impact for development and the creative communications industry.
  • Keep up to date with industry design trends/new technologies. Come up with creative solutions to apply them. Be proactive, rather than reactive.

 

The job description reflects the core activities of the role although there will be changes in the emphasis of duties as required from time to time. There is a requirement for the post holder to recognize this and adopt a flexible approach to work.

Specific skills and experience

  • Experience of working across multiple channels and brands – a minimum of 3 years working as a digital designer in an agency.
  • Experience of creative thinking and idea generation.
  • A desire to achieve high quality standards with strong attention to detail.
  • Self-starter who is solution oriented and knows how to ‘make things happen’.
  • Ability to think on your feet.
  • Team Player.
  • Takes action / decisions with consideration for both client and agency interests.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Has a challenging and enquiring mind, with an ability to take a fresh perspective, keeping up to date with latest thinking.
  • A positive attitude.
